Pete Wentz is an expert in strategic planning, public relations
and crisis management. A former general counsel and Vice President
for Communications for a Fortune 500 company, Pete also led the
Chicago office of a national public relations firm and served as
the associate dean of a major law school. He has led strategic planning
and public relations programs for corporations, law firms, law schools
and other educational institutions.
Before founding New Vistas, he was the Associate Dean at Northwestern
University School of Law where he was responsible for strategic
planning and public relations. He continues to teach a course that
includes crisis management and the law.
Pete served for 17 years as Vice President-Corporate Communications
and Law for Helene Curtis Industries, Inc., where he led all aspects
of the company's public relations program, including reputation
management, investor relations and crisis communications.
Pete next served
as a principal and general manager for the Chicago office of The Dilenschneider
Group, a strategic public relations and crisis management firm.
In that capacity, he provided reputation enhancement and crisis
management counseling for corporations, internet businesses, including
a leading brokerage firm, investment banks and law firms.
Pete is a graduate of Trinity College and Northwestern University
School of Law. Before joining Helene Curtis, he was an attorney
at Sidley & Austin and, prior to that, a legislative assistant to
U.S. Senator Joseph R. Biden.
